Home is where the heart is and the heart of Ronald McDonald House is its volunteers.
Volunteers are essential to Ronald McDonald House South & Central Australia.
We value their contributions to providing a safe, caring home for families with sick children. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, including students, professionals, parents, and retirees. They share a passion for helping kids and their families during difficult times.
 
Volunteers play a crucial role in many areas:
  • Dinner Squad: Volunteers assist with the preparation of an evening meal and support various groups who are preparing dinner for families.
  • Storytime: Volunteers read stories, colour with children, and create a comforting and fun atmosphere.
  • Night Owls: Volunteers provide overnight assistance to families, offering a sense of security and support.
  • Hospitality Cart: Volunteers deliver supplies and support to families in the hospital, bringing a touch of comfort and care to their bedside.
  • House Heroes: Volunteers help maintain the House, ensuring it’s a clean, welcoming, and supportive environment for all.
  • Hercules Drivers: Volunteers transport families to appointments and errands, providing much-needed mobility and independence.
  • Events: Volunteers assist with planning and helping run fundraising events, these include our Gala Ball, Golf Day and Christmas Gift Wrapping.
 

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and compassion that our volunteers contribute to Ronald McDonald House South & Central Australia. Their dedication makes a significant difference in the lives of families facing challenging circumstances.

Current Volunteer Vacancies:
  • House Heroes – we are seeking volunteers with availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays
  • Night Owls (overnight role) – we are seeking volunteers with availability on Friday or Saturday nights
  • Hospitality Cart (based at the Lyell McEwin Hospital) we are seeking volunteers with availability weekdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
  • Events – if you would like to be added to our Events Register and be notified of upcoming events, please submit the Volunteer Form below.
